Great trail Hiker

Designed as a trail runner these have a really a nice foot bed with decent tread. What I like about them is they are super comfortable with a lot of padding around the ankle and tongue. There is a lot of cushion in these. The Outdry breaths better than the traditional GTX. There is a lot of flex in the metatarsal footbed and the toe box has ample space for toe flex. This model is not as built up as the Salomon Xa Pro Ultra GTX and is about the same weight. Other than that the shoe is a little to heavy for me to trail run so I use it as a fast-packer. My minimal trail shoes are half the weight as these so it does not pay to lift twice the weight when running, but these give you more cushion for carrying a substantial amount of weight.
