Great for fishing trips

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Unless the day is cold to start, this is my low volume rain jacket on flyfishing trips up in the mountains. Takes up next to no room in a vest or pack, but gives good coverage when you get caught in a sudden thunderstorm along the stream. Covers well over a vest or small hydration pack, and the hood is large enough to go over whatever hat I'm wearing with just a bit of brim sticking out. If the wind is really blowing, I'll wrap my wader belt around the waist on top to keep it from billowing and catching on tree limbs. I recharge it with a tech wash and spray on treatment once a year before the season and it sheds water like new.
