Good fly but poles are not rigid anough

I bought this tent because the fly adequately covers the tent, something that is lacking in many other tents. The tent is ok for family backpacking. My 6 year old can help me set this up. Its very simple and easy to set up and take down. WIthout the fly, it serves as execellent bug protection with a very airy, open feel. It sleeps me, my wife, our 10 year old and our 6 year old comfortably. The construction details are adequate but not super. I like this tent because the zippers dont get hung up..ever! We have NOT had this tent out in serious weather, and Im not that optimistic considering that the poles are quite light gauge and tend to flex in the wind very easily. almost to the point that it would be a bit of a stretch to call this tent "free standing" in open exposed country. I anticipate extensive guying when theres any kind of wind.( they do have the guyout attachments in the right places) As far as rain, the fly is well designed and large enough to keep rain off the the lower walls.
