Gear Review

Good Boot, but not for me.

I took a long time to think about writing this review, because I wanted to get it just right. I've suffered plenty at the hands (or feet) of this boot, and have the blisters to prove it, but I also really think that it was probably mostly my fault. I have about 250-300 miles in this boot, and they've been in the Peruvian Andes and the Yellowstone backcountry and the boot has cosmetically held up well. They dry fairly quickly and can even hold up to a fairly heavy pack load. Problem for me was that I was constantly facing rubbing on the outsides of my feet. After a while with different socks and footbeds, I decided that my foot was simply too low volume for the wide heel cup in the boot. It was that problem that led my foot to splash around a little and rub in the wrong spots.

Fact is, I would still recommend the boots, because I do really like them, but just make sure you have a wide-ish foot, particularly at the backend, or they may hurt you a bit otherwise.
