Fun, playful, and stable

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a great ski. Ridden in two light and fluffy powder days. Amazing float. Because they keep you on top, the skis allow you to carve even in powder. Very playful. When making quick, short turns, the Bent Chetlers are very poppy but stable. Haven't had much time in crud and chop yet. Surprisingly carves well on groomers. They don't just get you back to the lift. I mounted mine on the team line, which is 2.5cm back from center. I ride in forward direction only. Fairly aggressive and hard charging style. I might tweak this a little. Need to put in a few more days to decide for sure. Overall, awesome skis.

Rode the Bents a few more days. I think the team line or 2.5cm back from center is the right spot for me. While the front looks short visually compared to my other skis, it works well. The difference between the BCs and my other skis is the design. There is a lot of surface area in front of the bindings even at only 2.5cm back. Therefore, there is a lot of lift in the front. I am actually having to focus more on staying forward and not getting tipped toward the rear. I think if I move the bindings back any further, this will become even more of an issue. As I stated earlier, I have not had any issue with nose dive. Today, I hit a bump and landed way to far forward. Despite my poor landing, the nose stayed up and kept me from rolling forward. I am glad that I didn't jump the gun and move the bindings prematurely.
