Form = Function. Perfect balance.

I got an Arc Teryx Covert Collar-zip in Carbide for Christmas from a particularly savvy girlfriend. She picked it out after watching me eyeball it at REI here in Anchorage. I just appreciated the style, but in typical Arc Teryx fashion, the ¼ zip pullover is crazy functional. The woven exterior is dressy enough to be worn for work, with contrast color sleeve ends and collar, while the Polartec underneath is unbelievably comfortable, and the main selling point. I stay comfortable with just a T-shirt underneath even with a few trips outside for the dogs here in Anchorage, and even longer outdoor trips only require a midweight windstopper fleece to be exceptionally warm. The sleeve pocket with the bird is small, but will fit ID or credit cards easily. My Palm Centro actually fits in it, if you have a small smartphone. It is so exceptionally comfortable, I went out and bought another one in Woodsmoke, to alternate. I have never bought two duplicate items before, ever. That in itself is high praise.

A couple of notes: these are fairly form fitting, try one on at your local REI first. Secondly, they tend to build up a static charge, I’ve zapped my girl more times than I can count…
