Comfortable, breathable,work for summer and fall. I've worn these on bouldering/camping trips in Joe's Valley and Big Bend in Moab on wicked hot days and brisk fall days. They were perfect. I'm 5'10" with and athletic build and I purchased a large. They fit a tad loose but I like that when I'm climbing.
