I used these for Search and Rescue in my local area, and it often includes black berry and thorn bush climbing. Whenever it comes to destroying the bushes or pushing through them, these gaiters have held to the test. They have held water, snow, and everything out, and I only have one complaint which would be that along the front, at the very bottom the little piece of Velcro the closes up the boot no longer sticks and occasionally it is difficult to put the hook on my laces. I would highly recommend these to anyone going into a muddy area, snowy area, or anywear where things might end up in your boots, like puddles or lakes. Best gaiters ever!
