I picked these up a month ago for a series of rock climbing trips and I have been totally wowed by how well they support for hiking and grip for scrambling. Like another reviewer said, the to the toe lacing lets you loosen up some for the hike in then dial it down when you get to the rock. The extra insole that gradualy gets bigger towards the back of the shoe is the secret sauce that supports your feet for the approach in.
