I had not bought a TNF technical jacket since 1993 until this one. I thought TNF sold out years ago and quit innovating. I have since owned Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Arcteryx, Cloudveil, and Mammut. I love my Kishtwar!!!! The fit is great (medium is perfect for 6'2" 180 lbs) and it has plenty of room for a layer. I recently wore it in Colorado's first snow storm of the season and it was awesome - windproof, stretchy, and I can't wait to ski and hike a 14er in it. I am glad TNF got a little more serious about materials, design, and made a real jacket again. Short of NeoShell, Polartec Powershield Pro is the best you can buy. 99% windproof and water resistant at the 10,000mm which makes it functionally waterproof!

Neoshell is 10,000mm waterproof. This jacket is 5,000mm which will still let water in. Also the seams and zippers leak.

The biggest issue with this jacket is the lack of seam taping which is a problem with most softshells.
