Amazing glasses fell short

Well I guess I am mixed about these glasses. I originally got them for mountaineering a year ago, and since then was really happy with them until recently which I will get into in a minute. First of all, I got these with the water lenses for traveling across glaciers and kayaking. The lens clarity on these glasses is absolutely breathtaking. I have never looked through a more magnificent lens not even a Maui Jim (so watch your back). Second the frames are great in that they are light weight, curved to match the faces articualtions and the nose grip and arm grips glue the glasses to the face. The frames wrap with the lenses providing coverage to the peripheral, and acute visual fields. The frames are on the larger side and if you like smaller glasses and or have a smaller head and prefer a smaller frame size these are not for you. Now onto the dirt. Around 7 months of owning these the grips on the arms began to peel. I was not impressed with that, especially since the price tag on these is steeper. When spending this much on a pair of glasses you expect to get several seasons out of them. Unfortunately I am in the process of working with the service department at REVO to see if they will honor this because I did not get these at BC. I am really neutral on these because of that one issue. I also reviewed the Revo Stern this last season and have not had any problems with them. They are fairly similar to these. I really do like these glasses but due to their malfunction I can't give them more than a 3 star until I try a new pair out and see how those do. If you can over look the arm grips peeling off then I would definitely recommend these glasses
