A nice and simple jacket

  • Gender: Male

Picked this up to veer away from insulated shells for the mellower (temp wise) winter here in UT.

The waterproofing was spot on the day I got out in the rain and has been since in the snow. The jacket also breathes impressively well as I never feel clammy or too hot, which is a good thing as I run a bit warm. I'm not a huge fan of snow gators, waist or wrist, and this jacket opts out of wrist but has a non removable waist gator. The non removable part isn't a deal break as its pretty minimal and stays in place impressively well, making it seem non-existent when not in use.

Only down side is no mesh in the vents and an initially hard to use zipper. The zipper took a couple of uses to break in but works smoothly now.

Completely agree with Daryl on the mesh in the vents. I don't know what these guys were thinking leaving the mesh out of the pit vents. I also tend to sun hot, so the vents are an absolute must; I usually open them for the lift line and the ride to the top. Unfortunately, I'm also a bit of a space case, so I sometimes forget to close them for the ride down and with no mesh, I end up with a jacket full of snow by the time I get back down to the bottom.

I just got my jacket, so I haven't had it on the snow yet, I'll add a rull review once I put it to the test.
