A gem

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Soon after moving out to the PNW from Florida and after one sad incident in which I woke up to find my poor dog curled up in a ball shaking because it was drenched in water, I realized it was time to buy a tent that was more appropriate for the unforgiving Oregonian weather. After much research and SKEPTICISM, I purchased this gem of a tent. Now, weird as it may be, I haven't had a chance to ascertain whether the tent is waterproof or not. The weather is quite schizophrenic here and despite countless forecasts of rains...it hasn't rained! However, I can say a few things about the tent. For one, the tent will remain at a decently warm temperature when in the high 30s , low 40s. Also, when the rain fly is set correctly (use the strings that come with the tent, tie them to the fly, pull the strings taut and anchor down with stakes), condensation will stay out of the tent. The tent also did amazingly well in the windy conditions of the coast. I am still waiting for stormy weathers, but so far the tent has proven to be a true gem.
