A Do Everything Jacket

I owned an older version of this jacket (probably from 2010?) that was recently stolen, to which I upgraded to this year's model so I'll be able to give a good comparison between the two.

Overall, this is a very well put together jacket. Strategically placed Windstopper material does a great job of keeping wind out and warmth in. Very comfortable jacket, perfect fit for everyday use (I'm 6'1" 185 lbs and opted for a large).

In most ways this newer model is a great upgrade from my older one. The fit is just slightly more technical without feeling weird wearing it every day, just slightly more snug through the body and arms. I find it actually a LOT more comfortable than the older jacket. For one, the interior of the jacket has a lot more fleece lining, through the shoulders and arms where the older jacket wasn't as soft in these areas (lots of exposed seams made it slightly uncomfortable at times). Also, the cuffs on the new jacket are fleece lined as well where the older jacket wasn't (again making it slightly uncomfortable at times).

The only downgrade from the older jacket in my opinion is the zipper. The older jacket had a much stronger zipper that kept wind out better than the new one. The newer zipper is easier up and down, but not as tight as the old one.

Overall, a big upgrade from the previous jacket. It is my every day jacket for work and play. I'd highly recommend this to someone looking for a midweight fleece/softshell hybrid.
