2013 model -- DO NOT BUY
I've been using last year's model and they are the absolute best hiking/climbing/adventure/all-'round pants I've ever worn (and I've tried way too many haha) BUT like the other reviewers have stated, the newest cut of the pants are WAAAAY off.
They literally have dropped 2 full sizes and as weird as it sounds--they really do cut into your hips...it's the oddest thing. I ordered the 32 (I'm a 34 in last year's model) and the waist lines are identical, but they really do dig into your hips! I then tried the 34 and they were falling off me.
As usual, no issues with the return from Backcountry but save yourself the dough or be one of those guys that literally wear skinny jeans or something...
If you can however find an earlier version of these pants buy them and hold onto them! The material, craftsmanship, durability, all of it is amazing and literally has no competition--not sure why Arcteryx dropped the ball on this year's mode...
