I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you are trying to unlock the battery cover to replace it, that is a twist off cover. You just stick headband tightener in the notch and twist.

Has anyone ever figured out how to get the petzl elite out of the lock position? This is not a question about unlocking the battery cover. The light has an "off' and a "lock" position and once in lock its difficult to figure out how to get it out of lock position.
