Would these skis be any good for use in an AT setup?
Thanks for the question. The YLE could definitely be of some use in the sidecountry and backcountry when it comes to hitting booter jumps and gaps. It would be a bit tough as a daily driver though as hard and uneven conditions shake the YLE up a bit. Also, I'd put an alpine binding with a touring function (Marker Baron or Duke, Salomon/Atomic Guardian/Tracker) on there if you go with this ski.
Although the YLE does appeal to people interested in hitting big jumps in the backcountry, it's actually an unreal all around powder ski and is a great option for an AT setup. I have a pair of YLE 187's with marker baron's and this has proven to be a versatile use of the ski. I can enjoy them in the resort on pow days and take them on any "reasonably" length tour in the BC without much effort. Don't sell the YLE short. It's an amazing pow weapon and a ski that's just light and slim enough to make it a great option for a AT setup.
