These would be perfect for snowshoeing. They're built a little tougher than the ones you usually find in the stores by Tubbs and the like, but still they are light enough for winter tromping. (Things like thorns, stones, and serious mud sometimes demand a heavier gaiter like the OR Crocodile). Only thing I would point out is that these are women's gaiters (note the flower on the side). I apologize if I presume incorrectly, but I think you would prefer these:
