Yeah, there's a certain expectation that hardcore backcountry skiers will do pretty much anything to shed weight--cutting off toenails, shaving heads and legs, eating nothing but air. Turn your weight-conscious nature from a point of ridicule into a badge of honor with the Black Diamond Stigma Ski, which weighs about as much as a bag of feathers and has plenty of downhill chops to handle the tightest couloirs and steepest descents. It has a fiberglass-wrapped paulownia wood core that's ultra-light without being weak and wobbly, and Dual Torsion Bow construction that keeps the ski stiff without using any extra material. To increase stiffness while minimizing weight, the Stigma also incorporates a 3D CNC core design that allows for less material in the tips and tails, keeping the Stigma super maneuverable so you can conquer those tight spots without having to haul heavy metal laminates up the skin track. The only metal in the Stigma can be found in the edges, which are designed to bite into the sort of icy hardpack you're likely to encounter on long tours and tough approaches.
