So, this looks pretty similar to the NF redpoint optimus, besides cuffs, different hood, and different insulation, ha... well somewhat similar. This is cheaper so is the Primaloft Sport not as warm as Primaloft One?

This also looks similar to the arcteryx atom LT and SV

Primaloft Sport is as warm as Primaloft One in similar weights, it just isn't quite as lofty and soft. Patagonia set out here to design a more durable and more affordable lightweight puffy than the Down Sweater and Nano Puff collections. I think it's a pretty awesome jacket, and compared to the redpoint, you definitely get a lot more bang for your buck with the Micro Puff here.

It's heavier than both Atom jackets, though the Atom SV is loftier. Unlike both of those jackets, the Micro Puff has no fleece or tricot panels on the sides. It does however, have an adjustable hood and hook and loop closures on the cuffs, which both Arcteryx jackets do not.

johndiggity is wrong on a couple things here. Only the Atom LT has Polartec fleece side panels, the SV is all Coreloft. Also the cuffs on the Patagonia are not hook and loop they are elastic just like the Arcteryx options.
Now my two cents is that this jacket is essentially a perfect copy of the Atom SV with the loft of the Atom LT in a package that can be had for half the price. Having owned all these synthetics and more I can suggest that if you want more loft than this don't waste your money on the Atom SV go with a 100g Primaloft One jacket like the First Ascent Igniter or a marmot/montbell synthetic.

You're correct - I was wrong about the hook and loop on the sleeves. I got the Micro Puff mixed up with the FA Igniter (I tried them both on the same weekend). However the Atom SV does have some stretch material under the arm pits for ventilation. Sorry if I was unclear.

For an extra $20, I'd go with the FA Igniter. It's a tad lighter, but you get better hood and gauntlet adjustments.
