Since this garment is RealFleece instead of their regular type of knit, does it feel warmer than a regular 260 g merino garment? I'm just asking because I don't consider 260 g to be heavyweight. Even my 320g aren't "heavy". My Dale of Norway St. Moritz merino sweater - that is definitely heavy as far as merino goes.

Because of the construction of this fabric- it is a jersey on the outside and a brushed merino fleece (100% merino!) on the inside you get more loft in the fabric hence a warmer layer. The fabric still weighs 260 gm/m- same as the BodyFit baselayer but will be warmer due to the construction of the fabric.

The loft allows it to trap more warm air. The RealFleece is great. Definitely warmer than the same weight of a normal piece. Also, the RealFleece is very soft.

DEFINITELY warmer; and more comfortable and cozy, in cold weather, in my experience.

This jacket is toasty. My daughter actually has the 260 bodyfit half zip, and it appears much lighter, as it's constructed different. This seems almost twice as heavy to me. Love the fit. I wear a small and am 5'3' - average size.
