I plan going on a 4-5 days hike trip (Yellowstone, Yosemite or Death Valley, haven't made my mind yet!). I've read the reviews and so far I'd be interested in Gregory Deva 70 or the Osprey Xenon (or the new Xena) 70. Any major differences between those two bags? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Lily, I currently have the Xenon 85. I bought it because I'm planning on several long expedition climbs. I used it last summer on Rainier, and I will be returning it. I love Osprey packs, but the Xenon (Xena) series seems to be very sloppy/floppy in regards to load carrying. The attributes that make it a great large pack are also its downfall in terms of stability. I'm looking for a different pack now, either a different Osprey series, or maybe another brand. Something that has a slightly more rigid form. One of the other women on the climb had the Gregory Deva 60 and she loved it. I'm looking at the Deva 70 now.
