I have been using a Dana Design Bomb Pack which has done me well xc skiing in the Cascades. The Talon 44 would be a consideration in that it would save me 2#s of weight. Am I giving up anything in shedding the pounds? Is it worth it? Would it stay on my back and survive a fall? I love the Bomber.

Randy, this is a comfortable pack and fits secure enough that it should stay in place if you fell. As for the pack being worth it, only you can answer that one.
