Does anyone have this and the Capilene 4 Expedition and if so what are the differences in warmth, comfort and fit. Thanks!

Thanks for the question. Personally I think of the Cap 4 Expedition weight as a fleece more than a base layer. If you want true next to skin to layer over, Capilene 3 is the best choice for sure. I wear mine all fall/winter/spring on it's own or layered under an R1 and/or a shell and love it. If you're going somewhere truly nasty then Cap 4 might be for you. It's nice and soft with a brushed interior and a durable weave for the exterior face fabric. Hope that helps!

Yes, I love them both but the Cap 4 is much thicker than this, so there's really no comparison. It's almost like a sweatshirt weight (or the R1 minus the waffle grid) I ware it as a mid layer most of the time and not really a base layer.
