Can I use it for skiing?

Responded on

Since it's designed as a winter climbing harness, I would think it would work fine for ski mountaineering.

You'd be better with a Bod-type harness that you can get on and off quickly while wearing skis. You can do this with any harness with adjustable leg loops, but it's slow and fiddly in gloves. This particular model seems to be designed for icefalls, rather than skiing.

you can use any harness as long as it fits. however, this harness is designed for falling and catching falls, so it has features to make that more comfortable. padding and more supportive swamis and such will add bulk. for ski mountaineering, you're not planning on taking or catching whippers, so you'd probably be happier with a harness that is only webbing. it will be lighter and and fit better with your cold weather layering.
