I tie down everything with Thule straps because they're simply the best. I make no exception when strapping down stuff with the load stops. You just "lay" the load stop over your roof rack bar, put a screw through the bottom of the load stop (underneath the rack bar), and you're done. My 12 year old put these stops on my car for me in the Home Depot parking lot while I was unloading the car. They're that simple.
