An absolute necessity on chilly mountain trails.

The Crest Trail above Park City, Utah offers 360-degree views of the Wasatch range and is nothing short of photogenic when the fall light combines with the changing leaves. But fall colors bring cold temps, so you'd better bring along a pair of Basin and Range Tech Tip Fleece Gloves if you want to enjoy your run along the Park City ridge line. Their Windstopper fleece fabric insulates against the cold and prevents any cold drafts from creeping through. And when you need to snap a few pictures of the pristine mountain views, the touchscreen compatible fingertips let you get the shot, without having to expose your hands to the cold.

    • Lightweight gloves for hiking, trail running, and spring skiing
    • Windstopper fleece insulates and blocks wind
    • Touchscreen compatible fingertips
    • Handwarmer compatible for added warmth

    Love the Windstopper

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I bought this as a pair of shoulder season/early morning hiking and trail running gloves. They are very toasty, and I really enjoy the windstopper fabric. I've had alot of gloves that were leakier than a screen door, so I appreciated that these were windproof.

Had and returned due to size

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Large

Have a little over 8.5" hand measurement and these were a little big. Particularly in the length of the fingers. My hand is medium sized. Material is a bit tougher than it appears (not very stretchy). Did not wear glove but can tell that these would block the wind perhaps more effectively than regular fleece / wool gloves. Overall an interesting alternative to type of material for a glove.

    Great casual glove

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I bought a pair of these for the hubs, and then had to get my own b/c I kept borrowing them. Great gloves for day-to-day winter life. They're toasty warm for everything from hiking to windshield scraping, and snow brushes off easily to keep hands cozy and dry.

Here's what the hubs has to say about them:
These gloves are simplistically and casually styled. Really soft material and come with windstopper tech. I haven'€™t tested them in a deep cold setting, but these gloves do very well on my walks to work in the low 20'€™s.

    Great casual glove

    Good value

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These gloves keep my hands really warm while providing a solid level of dexterity for most finger activities. I took them out on the bike to test the Windstopper and they hold up very well. Not really breathable so you get some palm sweat if you're being active. Great for walking around the park and throwing snowballs at the squirrels, though. Finally I wasn't really expecting the Tech Tip to work(they rarely do with my iPhone) and it didn't. I tried on a friend's Galaxy, too, and no luck. That being said, the rubbery tips of the thumb and index finger come in handy if you're flipping through the mail or tying your shoes or whatever else you might need just a bit more grip for.

    Solid

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my husband to wear when he does outdoor winter photography, but sadly they don't work for that. They're fuzzy and warm, but they're too thick to use if you need some sensitivity in the fingers.

Now he uses them for running with our dog outside and they keep his hands comfortably warm for that.

Also, the fingertips were NOT touchscreen compatible. Maybe it was a defect but it didn't seem like it.

    Stops the Wind

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

When it comes to gloves, my highest priority is how well they perform during cold weather biking. To enable reliable shifting and braking they have to be warm, windproof, and flexible. This combination can be hard to find, but these gloves have it dialed. I've been out on several winter rides and these gloves kept my digits warm and happy every time.

These also work very well for XC skiing - providing ample warmth yet maintaining a high level of dexterity.

    Good wind block glove

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I am not kind to gloves due to all the BC skiing I do. I need a light, warm, wind block glove at a reasonable price. This glove fits the bill. Wind Stopper works but it does not breath as well as without. However, I would rather have the wind blocked and deal with a little sweat. One thing I would improve on the glove is the cuff, its a bit tight but it stretches out with continued use.

    Solid

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M

Good basic gloves. They don't look like anything special. But they strike a decent balance between warmth and dexterity. You can do up zippers wearing these, but you couldn't tie shoelaces. Due to the windstopper fabric, they're not very stretchy, but the sizing and shape is about right.

I've been wearing these for winter running. Probably fine down to about 20 F.

The "tech tips" didn't work reliably for me, however. I found that they were sufficient to allow me to answer my phone, and maybe snap a photo. But it often took a few swipes. Would not be possible to do anything very complicated with a phone wearing these. Might have been due to interaction with screen protector on my phone, or the cold temperature, though.

    Kept me warm

These gloves are definitely wind proof. The are soft and warm. At this price, its a bargain. I'm interested to see how they will hold up over time.
