Description

Hey, it's better than flippers.

Unfortunately humans haven't developed winter boots attached to their bodies yet; in the meantime, you can rely on the Baffin Evolution Boot. Comfort-rated to a whopping -70F, the Evolution uses Diamond-lite insulation to trap heat and keep out cold even in the most unforgiving landscape.
  • Thermaplush removable liner adds insulating power and manages moisture
  • Timberwolf leather uppers are abrasion- and weather-resistant for maximum durability
  • High-friction Icepaw outsoles offer grip and traction even on more slick terrain
  • Seam-sealed to fully keep out the weather

Ddep,

I've looked around and the consensus is that these weight about 43 ounces per foot or 5.2 pounds per pair.

Excellent quality!!!

  • Gender: Male

When I first got these boots... They were HUGE!!! However they are extremely comfortable and very, very warm!!!! They are great for any outdoor activity, no matter the cold!

P.S. The only problem with these is the sizing: in order to get the size that fits you, you have to get one size bigger. e.g. I normally wear size 12 running shoes so I had to order size 13 boots to make sure they fit.

VERY warm and comfy

So I bought these boots and took them out snowshoeing. First, they offer an extremely comfortable insole and are quite warm. They are also light/small enough to allow you to perform somewhat technical movements (ie. they don't get in their own way), at least while snowshoeing. Guaranteed there are lighter/smaller boots out there, but may not be as comfy. My only issue was that since they fit snug with the ankles, they really did a number on my ankles (in terms of bruising) first time out. I remember this happening when I used to ski as well with ski boots. Your ankle has to get used to it. I *think* this is common for any boot that really hugs the ankle and where you are doing things that require constant bending of the ankle such as hiking. The next day I ended up not lacing them all the way up and that made a difference in terms of ankle soreness. Overall I would recommend them.

Prefer Baffin Control Max

Shares most of the attributes of the Control Max: like a cushy, warm, supportive, slipper. The cuff design is very similar to a ski boot. Incredibly comfortable. Compared to Control Max model, Evolution has slightly lower cuff. Also, Evolution model is harder to tie closed; loops are much smaller and tighter. Big loops on Control Max make getting in/out easier. Both are great choices, though. Fantastic gear.

Baffin Evolution Boot

I love my new Baffin Evolution Boots. They are super warm and comfortable with great treading. I just purchased them so I do not have a good deal of history wearing them yet. Only time will tell how they perform and last. Boot does seem sturdy. I will post some other reviews as I wear them. I would consider this boot mid-weight.
