I have not put the claimed -50 rating to a test, and I never will. I bought these a month before a January hunting trip in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Here on the east coast the winter set in hard. Ice and snow were no match for these. My feet were often too warm. The sole is good and stiff with traction. They are easy to get on and off. When I got to Colorado, there was little snow and the temps moderate, so I opted not to wear them. Good insurance anyway.

Bought these for all-winter bike commuting in MN. Great news is they are hands down the warmest boots I've ever owned, putting to shame every kind of famous-maker pac boot I've tried. Significant news is they are enormous, and I mean gigantic. So don't expect to pedal a bike with any dexterity, but don't worry about losing any toes on said bike when it's moving at 5mph on a snowy road.
(I've only taken them down to single digits below 0F. I could've been completely idle all day with warm feet at 10 below.)
I fit pretty much perfectly into size 9.5 Vasque Sundowners.

Just got a size 10 and they fit great. I used to own 9.5 Vasques(I also wear 9.5 dress shoes and running shoes). I plan to use these Baffins in colder temps and use thicker socks than what I normally wear in a hiking boot.
