Starting on August 5, Backcountry.com Pro Team Athlete and über ultra-runner Karl Meltzer will attempt to set a world speed record by running the Appalachian Trail—all 2,174 miles of it—in less than 47 days. That’s over 46 miles per day. If that’s not crazy, we’re not sure what is.
