Backcountry.com Nebraska Softshell Hat - 2010 BCS

This hat has to be one of the most comfortable hats that I've ever worn. I decided to size up because I wanted a somewhat loose fit. I usually wear a 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 and I got a L/XL in this hat and it fits just how I want it. The hat is also quite good looking. Nothing to complain about here.

Not real impressed with this hat. First note...this is not a flexfit brand hat, looks like one, but fits way different. I got the small/medium and it fits tight. I am afraid to get the large cause I think it will be too big. I think it will be like one of the other soft shell hats they had and it will look like a big dome. The brim is way too big for the hat too. Props to the logo though. The backcountry logo is stellar!!
Conclusion....Stick with the trucker.

P.s. Backcountry, Please bring back the Flexfit brand hat!!! Put your logo on that one, everyone loves flexfit.

The hat itself is great. Awesome logo design, both front and back. Looks alone, a 5 star rating easy. But the fit is way small. I have a 7 5/8 noggin, and the L/XL that would fit me fine in a FlexFit is hugging my head so tight it gave me a headache today. I'm hoping it will relax a bit with some wearing, but that remains to be seen.

Having a small melon makes for a tough time finding a trucker hat that doesn't make me look ridiculous. This hat fits my head the way a hat should, and looks good doing it. I found the brim to be about the same size as my other hats, and don't understand the fuss made by other reviewers regarding this issue.

hat fits my noodle well, i have a small head and was cautions to buy the s/m as usually those are still big for me. 2 thumbs up

I enjoy wearing this skater style hat on ski tours and ski mountaineering trips....

The logo, color scheme, and fabric earn it 2 stars. The fit and HUGE brim get zilch. I ordered the large/XL size which isn't very big (too small) and the brim is still enormous (see other review). Guys, I guess if you're over-compensating for something else, then this is the brim for you! C'mon BC I'm trying to support, but you've gotta do your part. I was just about to order a BC t-shirt, but looks like more of the same... poor quality shirt earning low ratings. Please guys, spend more on the gear before putting your logo on it!

Disappointing. Loved my flex fit goat hat until I lost it. This one is not the same. Fits weird.

I don't understand all of the haters out there. The BC.com Nebraska Softshell Hat is well-built and at least the S/M size was true to fit (I wear ~7 1/8 fitted hats). This is a much better incarnation of the BC.com softshell hat compared to the last one (no Elmer Fudd look). I'm from Nebraska, so I'll be proud to point out this hat's name whenever I return the homeland.

I've been looking for a good hat for a while. This hat does it. I have a big dome and have been looking for a deep dish. Great fit. The water shedding quality was secondary to me but so far color me impressed. Its the rainy season in the PNW and this hat keeps the rain off my head. Nice.

I'm really not a hat wearing kind of guy, but I bought this hat anyway as I needed something to protect my face from the sun while rafting Westwater Canyon. First of all, the function: Like any other hat, it did its job at preventing my nose from shriveling up and frying off in the 110 degree heat. Additionally, it seems that the hat is somewhat water repellent. This worked great for scooping water up out of the Colorado and pouring it over my head without hardly any loss due to soak through and drip. Deal breaker if it didn't function like this? Not at all, but it sure was a nice perk. It might even help when you're wearing it on a rainy day.

The cons? None, really. The hat looks good, which is saying something considering I generally dislike hats like this. It's a simple design, a subtle color, and functions like it should. Given the price (cheeeap), I see no reason not to pick one of these up.
