Amazing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's amazing how hot my tea/coffee kept after a few hours. I eventually had to leave the lid open to cool it down. I accidentally left my cup in the car when it was freezing out and it was still hot. I love Hydroflask!

Great coffee cup

This is a great coffee cup. It's almost to good keeps coffee piping hot for along time. Have not tested to see how long it will last but I've had my coffee still hot after 5 hours. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a really nice coffee cup

Versatile

If you're not into the coffee lid, HydroFlask's standard wide-mouth lid also fits this bottle perfectly (for a completely leak-proof seal). HydroFlask offers em on their website for cheap, or you can switcheroo if you already have another wide-mouth HydroFlask. As for the flask itself, it rocks. It keeps my coffee hot for way longer than my Starbucks travel tumbler, for what it's worth. I also use it as a coldwater bottle and it's great for that too.

Pros and Cons

So we can land a rover on Mars but we still cannot invent a leak-proof coffee cup... The good? This cup does a great job at keeping things warm, it feels very nicely made and it is easy to clean so you don't end up with dried coffee hiding in the crannies after a month of use. The bad? It leaks badly when shut and it just barely doesn't fit into a Honda Pilot cup holder. So, I've ended up with a center console is soaked in coffee a couple of times.

I like Hydro Flask but given the premium cost I would only recommend it if leak-proof is not on your list of must-have features.

Cool

I mainly use this as a water bottle. It's great at keeping the water cold. I love the flip/press lid because I am one of the people who unscrews the lid, takes a drink, and screws the lid back on.

Hot

If you're like me and like to leave your coffee sitting around and forget about it, this is for you. When you remember it, it's still hot!

Like hot coffee?

I got this as a Christmas gift for my room mate and after hearing him rave about it for a month I decided it was time to get my own. I highly recommend this product!

Hydroflask = The best out there

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had quit a few hydro flask pieces. They are awesome in keeping liquids hot and cold for extended amounts of time. I have even done a test against other brands and hydroflask won. For example - put hot water in both hydro flask and another well know brand - coffee flask - at 9:00 AM. Hydroflask - liquid was still hot at 2:30 -3:00 PM and the other was already lukewarm by 12:00 PM. Also hydroflask can take a beating - I have dropped mine quit a few times - no major dents or scratches like others. The inside does not stain or hold smells like other brands. I could go on and on about what a good buy it is.

Love it!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing rocks. It keeps stuff hot for up to 6-8 hours. The other great thing about this bottle is that it doesn't sweat when it's loaded with ice. Highly recommend this bottle!

Finally!!!

I found a travel mug that works nearly as well as a thermos. This mug will keep your coffee/hot chocolate/tea hot for hours even out in the elements. The 12 hour time is a little exaggerated. I would say it keeps liquids hot for 6-8 hours. I had to pick up a couple so I can use it daily.

Keeps it Hot!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's awesome holds a lot of coffee and keeps it hot for hours with no spills. It does make a tinging sound once in a while but pretty sure that's normal. Remember to NOT put it in the dishwasher, although I did a few times and it still works. It's an enclosed metal canister.

tough travel mug

This is a well built, attractive durable travel mug with near thermos capability. it is terrific. it is not a thermos: it has a lid which perfectly keeps liquid from sloshing out of the flask while mostly upright. It does not keep liquid from leaking out when it is upside down. the drink lid does reduce its thermos properties compared to a thermos, but it is far superior to most other travel mugs. It is a thermos-like travel mug and an excellent one at that, my favorite ever.

Good and Bad

Overall, great quality item. Two things I found with this product after using it for a few months. This is very good at keeping things hot, maybe too hot. I've gotten so used to pouring hot coffee into my (Stanley Nineteen) other mug and having the coffee start cooling off immediately. Which is nice, as long as it doesn't cool too quickly. You almost have to let the liquid cool to drinking temperature prior to pouring it in, because it will stay very hot for a long time.

Secondly, you'd think that with their amazing thermal technology, they could make a leak proof lid... Wrong. The lid sucks in my opinion. It's great for drinking out of, which I suppose is what it's made for, but you cannot tilt it very far without it spilling. Just beware when buying this, if you're planning on moving a lot with it, it will leak. Another coworker of mine here at Backcountry has confirmed this, he only uses his at work.

If you throw this in a backpack and go climbing, will it leak? Looking for an insulated mug with a screw off top but some sort of flip/press lid that makes drinking easy and leaking hard.

This will leak like crazy. Mine leaks very easily. You'll have a coffee smelling rope :)

I ordered this item from Backcountry and after 3days, something is rattling inside of it. Has anyone provided similar feedback for this item? We used it with hot coffee and a few ice cubes to cool it down, so I don't know if that caused the problem since that's how I use my other coffee travel mugs. I'll be returning/exchanging it this weekend. Thanks!

I've got a rattle in mine as well, but as far as I can tell, it's not causing any issues. I haven't noticed any leaking into the space between the double walls - not missing any coffee, and no liquid sloshing around the middle. The only drawback I've noticed from it is that, if I hear it, it means the coffee's all gone.

I've got no reservations about the weird little rattling noise - I love this mug, and it keeps stuff hot for a long time
