under five bucks how can you go wrong
started out good, BUT...
Its a good size, and stainless steel is where it's at. BUT, after about 2 months, the plastic rim started spinning with the cap, and now it won't come off. I have another non backcountry branded bottle of the same manufacturer and it is still holding up ok.
Stainless steel is the way to go
This bottle is great! Truly does not get skunky for a while...I mean weeks possibly months. I don't keep the greatest track of time.
Simple: the design is clean and straightforward without all a bunch of curlicued patterns and whatnot.
Functional: the loop on the cap is a great size. Not to big that it gets in the way but not so small that you can easily attach/detach a carabiner or grab hold of it. The lip of the bottle is lined in BPA free plastic to keep your mouth from sticking to the bottle when temperatures drop.
Easy to identify: brightly colored cap (I have the green) and the awesome Backcounty logo.
Good size: holds a good amount of water without being too big.
No good for running
With a screw type cap and a wide mouth this would not be suitable fro running or biking. It is OK for walking.
Keep's your water really cold for quite some time. Holds a decent amount of water and ice. Absolutely love the goat on it.
This is a great little bottle to keep your water or drink cool for 4 hours plus! Its sweet looking too! Have fun with it!
Larger than expected
I love these. We now own four. The wide mouth makes it easier to clean than most water bottles, and the lids are easy to mark with permanent marker.
The *only* drawback I've discovered is that, because they are wider water bottles, they don't fit as well in the side pocket of the kids' backpacks... so if you're looking for something to replace plastic water bottles, you may want to browse the site for something a little more tall and narrow.
On the other hand, the lids on these create a nice, tight seal, so I don't worry about them leaking in the bottom of the kids' bookbags.
This is round two for the Chalice. First one I had lasted for a year then I dropped it while running and the plastic insert cracked. Up until that point though I had really liked the bottle and for the price (when on sale) you can't beat it.
great to travel with
Dump your plastic bottle, glad I did. No leaks great product!
great bottle! great price!
I got this for my husband for christmas and he loves it. It is a good size for keeping at his desk at work, as well as around the house. It hasn't seen much action beyond that yet, but we're lovin' it so far.
Great Cheap Water bottle
Great water bottle so far... its size is decent and having it be stainless steel is great.... It is holding up great even with a few drops already. Great, cheap water bottle!
Bottle next to a Nalgene
Disappointed with the packing
The bottle seems nice enough - I haven't had a chance to use it as of yet. I literally just received the shipment and had to comment. The packing was not good. When I received the box, you could hear the bottles hitting each other. Obviously, when I opened up the box, they were all scratched up from beating around on each other while in the box. There was one air bag in the box which did no good. They really need to pacakge these bottles better when shipping. I know eventually the bottles will get scratched, but didn't expect them to look like they have been used when I recieved them.
Needed to replace some old BPA-filled Nalgenes so go two of these for free with my FB coupon! Got them in two days, sweet. Other reviews said the paint on the bottles scratches so I picked the plain metal ones with blue and green tops, no issues and the plastic tops/threads work just fine. Happy that I can carabiner them to my pack for BPing trips too. I washed it once and don't notice any bad tastes either.
Great hiking bottle
No leaks so far, and does a pretty decent job insulating hot liquids.
I took it up to the mountains in Fort Irwin CA. It went to the top of Mt. Tiefort a couple of times and survived. It got a couple of dings but it held its own and the water which is what it is supposed to do. I recommend it to anyone due to its great price and durability.
Very good bottle!!!!!!
Very good bottle, is lasting because it is done of stainless steel, is easy to fill it by the large opening. Excellent relation weigh-price-value.
These are great vintage watter bottles. I love the metalic feel and durability and I thought the plastic areas might get gnasty but to date no issues. For these prices just go ahead and add 5 to the cart.
These bottles aren't as cool as they sound. I thought it would be on par with Sigg but it's not even close. The paint is thin and looks cheap. I had to return the bottles because they came dented and scratched up. Save your pennies and get a Sigg bottle.
Great bottle for hiking. Top has screwed on tight so far. On the inside of the lid is a rubber seal preventing leakage. It holds a hefty amount of water and does not feel bulky. Stainless Steel all the way.
