Take the Backcountry Access Arsenal Shovel with 35cm Saw and A1 Blade on backcountry touring days, and you'll always have a snow saw that easily accessible right inside the shaft of your shovel. Backcountry Access cleverly integrated the saw access into the t-grip handle, allowing you to slide the saw out without completely disassembling and reassembling your shovel. Quit digging through your bag for your snow saw and instead reach for the Arsenal Shovel system when you stop to run some stability tests on a heavy day.

  • Tough-as-nails aluminum offers a strength-to-weight ratio like none other so you can depend on the construction when lives are on the line
  • The T-grip can be looped through and worn without a pack with user-supplied webbing or rope
  • Pre-punched holes in the blade make it simple to use this shovel to set up a sturdy snow anchor or emergency litter

great shovel

Sweet shovel for digging pits and rescue. The one with the ext handle would have been better. I'm 6'3" and I pretty much just have to shovel from my knees. Which is where your at most of the time digging fast for a rescue. But still wish it ext for other digging. The saw is great and cuts down on space and more shit floating around in your pack. The blade is tough and you can more alot of snow with this shovel when you get after it.

Does this shovel allow for the shaft to be removed and stored separately? How about the extendable version?

Also, how do the A1 and A2 blades compare?

Responded on

yes the blade can be removed and stored separately, and the difference in the blades is the size. the a2 is 1 inch larger and an ounce more weight
