Shorty 4 Cyclocross Brakes

The Avid Shorty 6's little brother, the Avid Shorty 6 Cyclocross Brake is built to work with any road lever. There are a few subtle differences between the two. The first is that the 4's cantilever arm is forged aluminum, where the 6 is machined. The second is that the 4 gets a less expensive painted finish than the 6. The last is that the 4 comes with one-piece pads, where the 6 comes with Avid's standard road pads, which allow you to change pad surfaces without having to realign the cantilevers. On the other hand, the two share strength, weight, and braking power.

Avid's Shorty 4 Cyclocross Brakes offer easy canti- arm adjustability with a stiff spring and limit screws on each side. The standard 70mm pads will give you tons of stopping power. They come as separate sets for front and rear. You'll have to order one set for each wheel to outfit your bike.
