Chugach Touring Ski

With a wider base than any other touring ski in the Atomic line, the Chugach Touring Ski is a top performer on rolling and various types of steeper terrian. Torsionally stiff RT cap construction combined with a deep sidecut and steel edges creates an easy turning ski that rivals the performance of some telemark skis. The RT's light, strong Air Channel wood core is durable enough to last through multiple seasons of use in the harshest terrain you can ski. With a smooth-gliding waxless base, this ski climbs with ease and will put a smile on your face.

Bottom Line: Wide, solid touring skis for technical terrain.

Randy, Unfortunately, the Chugach never went into full production. The widest metal-edge waxless ski from Atomic is the Rainier (87/60/78). For your weight I would recommend the 192.

As usual there is not one perfect tool for the job, but the chugach is pretty close. I live in an area with a lot of little powder stashes of 10-15 turns. These skis are a great way to travel between them and make the most of them when you are there.
