A climbing bar on the Atlas Men’s 11 Series Snowshoe goes a long way in reducing calf-muscle fatigue when you’re hiking up steep terrain in the mountains. This bar also lets you put more pressure on the entire snowshoe instead of just digging in with the front crampons. Atlas’ Spring-Loaded Suspension uses the spring of the frame to suspend the binding so your foot can maintain a natural position even you’re traversing across a slope. The men’s-specific, molded binding on this snowshoe creates a snug fit with your boot, a supportive arche cradles the inside, and the urethane heel strap adjusts with an easy SureClick buckle.

Bottom Line: Easy climbing.

These are not a racing snowshoe but if you are a novice racer you will be able to make it work. Racing shoes are small and light. The race shoes (usually around 22 inches) are made for packed trails usually, not deep fluff.

UNREAL!

After using these snowshoes ascending Algonquin Peak in the Dacks, I went home and bought a pair! I was carrying a 50lb pack with a total weight of 225lbs. I was wearing 30 inch model and worked great! AMAZING heal raiser bar. I would never have made it up without it! Extremely durable, walking over 2 feet of snow and then rocks and then ice and I was able to put my full safety in hands of these shoes! FOR DEEP POWDER GET THESE! for shorter trips or occasional use on mountains...bring msr's. Atlas 4 life!

What kinda boot are we talking here, like the description above reads the molded binding on this snowshoe creates a snug fit with your boot, it’s an adjustable binding for various boot sizes and depending on your size you can go with 25 in or the 30 inMost boots should fit (with the exception of some snowboarding boots, which you wouldn't want to use anyway).

Great for deep snow

By:
February 4, 2009

With pack I weigh in around 210 so I got the 30" big dogs. In deep snow they are really incredible. My friends that I go with all have smaller hiking shoes so when it is time to break trail they all look to me. . The heel risers are a life saver when you are doing a lot of vert. I am having back problems this winter so I have not been skiing at all, getting thses shoes was the best thing I could have done to save me from a winter on the couch.

The Rev Says Hell Ya!

Brothers and Sisters if you like to go where there is no trail then get these snowshoes! If you like to go straight uphill (you will love the hell lift), get these snowshoes. If you want bindings that you can get in and out of with gloves on, get these snowshoes.
