The Co-Lab Mitten is a special-edition from Astis and the only mitten of its kind adorned with the Backcountry goat logo. Astis Mittens was founded in 2011, but the story goes back over a decade. A man was canoeing in northern Ontario when he met a Cree woman, and traded her a pocket knife for a pair of warm leather mittens. Neither of them knew that their friendly trade would spark one of the most unique and interesting mitten companies on the planet. Astis combines traditional construction and modern, weather-stopping tech to keep your hands warm in an eye-catching style you can wear in the backcountry or when you're cruising town on a cold winter night.

  • Leather exterior protects your hands from the cold and breaks in to form the perfect fit over time
  • Silicone-injected leather sourced from a tannery in Milwaukee blocks moisture
  • DWR coating helps the leather exterior repel wet snow and moisture
  • Polartec fleece lining adds warmth without adding bulk
  • Long fit forms a secure seal where you jacket and mittens meet
  • Beadwork and trims are handcrafted in Oregon

These Asits mittens are the cat's meow.
WARM, soft, comfortable and utterly bombproof.
I've been rocking Astis mittens going on 2 winters now and they are one of my favorite things on snow.

They are totally waterproof, and I actually prefer them for powder days. They are easy on/easy off which is super convenient if you need to make adjustments to your equipment or take pictures on the fly.

$$$$pendy, but worth the coin.

This picture actually demonstrates the 'brown' color -->

...which I like better than this TAN version because they don't show dirt quite as easily.

I simply wanted to provide a closer look at the beadwork.
