8 years, no maintenance, & still awesome

The only "issue" I've had is the tread is wearing thin (8 years later), which Asolo replaces for life... Please disregard the ignorant review another "customer" left on this page - it somehow got through the screening process. I've been wearing the same pair for 8 years, haven't maintained them at all, and they're still awesome. I haven't waxed or oiled them once, always let mud try on them, and even worked concrete in them a few times (rinsed off after), but they don't care. I wore them everyday on construction sites for 5+ years because they're a cloud when walking through riprap. I hike and backpack in them throughout the year with varying thicknesses of socks (summer sun, spring/fall rain, winter snow) and they're comfortable on any terrain, with or without a huge pack of gear. They're a little heavy if you're not used to heavy-duty boots, but that's the downside to being 100% confident in your feet and ankles when you're descending jagged, loose, and rocky terrain with 60 pounds on your back. Their color has lightened from the abuse (scratches and dehydration) but the leather is still top quality. I'm about to send them off for resoling, but even if Asolo didn't offer the service or if mine are beyond repair, I would/will buy these again.

Improvement over the 200 GV Midsole

The PW 200 EVO GV's are a fantastic update of the previous model. The Vibram sole is durable, yet grippy on wet/slick surfaces. The full grain leather is best in class and well maintained with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP. The micro pulley lace system makes it extremely easy to snug and loosen where desired. I measured as an US11 D on the Brannock Device. I order an 11 and the fit is perfect, snug all over with room in the toe box.

Love These Boots

I?m on my third pair of Power Matic 200 Gv?s. I wear them nearly everyday, so from day one I usually swap out the insoles for a pair of Orange super feet It would appear that the midsole has been updated since my last pair, so I can?t speak to that and perhaps that?s one reason the cost keeps climbing. My first pair MSRP was around $260 ish. I can?t remember exactly but this was only 8-9 years ago. One other downside of these boots is that the leather on the toes always gets scuffed and scratched. It?s unavoidable. But the lacing pulley system, comfort, and longevity all work to make this my favorite boot despite the cons. But that price is a factor that has me trying a different brand of boot that?s very similar in look and feel but has a toe rand. So we?ll see, I?ll either have a new favorite boot or I?ll come running back to the Powermatic?s begging for forgiveness.
