Even though you came for the vertical, navigating the third- and forth-class terrain on your way to the steeper stuff is an important part of the whole experience. Asolo designed its Distance Approach Shoe with water-resistant suede uppers to protect your toes from muddy crossings and included a Vibram sole for exceptional grip on the slick stuff. A smooth Velveteen lining helps cut down on friction to spare your skin, and the dual-density midsole absorbs shocks as you skip across boulders and talus.

I have size 13 narrow, low volume, high arch foot. Is this a good shoe for me?

sturdy and bomber

Both my wife and I love our Distance shoes. They work great for soloing easy rock climbs, and on difficult rocky uneven terrain. They are fairly stiff and heavy giving them a boot feel in a sneaker package. When I'm on terrain that my feet will get punished on, I'll wear my Distances. I usually wear out shoes quite quickly and the
Distances last a long time, despite the abuse I give them. They'd be a good big wall shoe as well as standing in aiders for long periods is not an issue.

    Great Hiker/Approach

The Asolo Distance is burly, but a very comfortable approach shoe after break in (3 hikes for me). There's enough stiffness in the toe to negotiate technical scrambling and bouldering. If you're looking to use these on some climbing routes, go a 1/2 smaller. Mine were a little roomy. Overall bomber shoe. These will last you multiple seasons.
