Advance GTX Boot - Women's

Support, traction, and dry feet are the trifecta of success for any mountain pursuit. Asolo created the Advance GTX Hiking Boot to provide all three and do so in a women-specific package. Lightweight but built tough with suede and High-Tenacity nylon, the Advance GTX delivers season after season of protection. A Gore-Tex insert shrugs off wet conditions so all you'll feel is the plush ride of the Lite 2 footbed while you scrambling through miles of high-alpine terrain.

  • The Gore-Tex insert creates a barrier of waterproof protection and breathes to keep your feet cool
  • A unified heel and toe counter plus molded arch support form the Lite 2 anatomic footbed, which provides ample support and heel retention for rapid ascents and safe descents
  • Power Lite sole combines a shock-absorbing midsole, rubber and Pebax reinforcement, and sculpted treads to reduce impact and fatigue and offer nigh-unshakable traction in variable terrain

Bottom Line: Steadfast support and voracious traction, built for women who love the trail.

Style May Not Be Everything But...

These are great boots but damn are they every ugly. Much much more unattractive then the photos portray. At the price, you really can't complain too much, and I do hope to cover them in mud and dirt, but I think that will only help to disguise these poor homely monsters a bit.
These boots do fit 1/2 size big; I am usually a 9.5 and these are 9's.
So I guess it's going to be function over form in this case; I wish that these boots were made to accommodate both.

Why doesn't Asolo make their soles out of Vibram? I wear

Why doesn't Asolo make their soles out of Vibram? I wear through the soles of these in less than a year of use!

Hmmm...Scarpa fit my wide feet funny, they're too narrow and rub til I blister.

I just learned, too, that Asolo makes their backpacking shoes with vibram soles - apparently the hiking shoes are not built for the tough wear that the backpacking ones are. I just ordered a pair of the Asolo Power Matic 400 - a slightly more durable version of this boot.

Well made but not for my feet

By:

These boots look awesome, by far the most attractive boots I found. They are well made, but just didn't work out for my feet. I consistently get blisters on my heels when hiking - they are great when going downhill because of the ankle support, but when going uphill they tend to rub my heels. I tried different socks but blisters every time :( If they work for your feet then they're an awesome boot. I have average width feet, I typically wear size 8.5 street shoe and bought 8.5's, although I felt they did run a little big. So maybe size down a half size if you try them.

Great boots

By:

I'm having to return theses boots because they rubbed a blister on my heel and rubbed my ankles. When I loosened the strings enough to stop the rubbing on the heel it allowed my foot to slam forward everytime I took a step. I have really narrow, low volume feet so I wasn't surprised this happened. I was very impressed with the boot itself. It felt very lightweight and sturdy. I had great traction and loved the purple and gray color. I've only found one pair of hiking boots that have fit my foot (Danner). So, if you have a normal volume and width or even a narrow width with normal volume foot, I would definitely recommend you try these. I stumbled and rolled my foot on a rocky path and normally I would've twisted my ankle pretty good in that situation, but these boots prevented that.
