Cloud nine for your knees.
As dependable as shade on a cloudy (but piping hot) summer day, the Asics Men's Gel-Nimbus 18 Running Shoe is built to provide run-long comfort, whatever the mileage. Outfitted with a nearly seamless FluidFit upper, this shoe uses multi-directional stretch mesh and reinforcements that adapt to your foot for a sock-like fit. The ComforDry X-40 sockliner provides enhanced rebound cushioning, excellent moisture management, high-level breathability, and odor-resistant comfort.
Underfoot, Asics added its ever-popular Gel cushioning systems at the rearfoot and forefoot for supreme shock-attenuation. The FluidRide midsole bounces back at each step and ensures long-lasting cushioning. Guidance Line and Trusstic Systems work together to encourage a natural gait for neutral runners or underpronators. Additionally, this running shoe also features an exoskeletal Heel Clutching System for extra heel support and an improved fit.

Like em better that previous models
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had numerous pairs of Asics Gel Nimbus over the years and find this model to have the most well designed combination of return energy, mixed with stability and cushion. Would have preferred a bit tighter in the toe box with wider feet. These provided a real benefit to my knees as a neutral runner.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times

Quality: If you have ever owned an Asics shoe you know the quality is some of the best in the industry, and the Gel-Nimbus serves up that top notch quality and some more. I only have about 5, so the isn’t any wear, or any issues with to quality. I have owned many pairs of Asics and don’t expect to have any with these - top notch. This sockliner works great with wicking moisture and upper is well constructed.
Comfort: I have had great experience with all of the Nimbus’s in the past and this shoes isn’t any different…with only a few exceptions. I love the new fit on the shoe, it is noticeably snugger in the toe-box, which I love. This shoe does not run like Nimbus’s in the past, not sure if it is the Heel Clutching System or the drop but certainly feels different.
Weight: 11.4 oz. Heel Height: 23mm. Forefoot Height: 13mm.
Price: At $150 Retail - There is a lot of technology in this shoe which may justify that price….but Score 2/5
Looks: Solid design. Score 4/5
