Great shovel for cutting through the crud and scooping away the loose debris, but would not recommend for a snow study tool. The shape of the scoop and blade were difficult to create a smooth and level surface for study.

Recently decided to replace its reliable Black Diamond Transfer 3 Shovel on ARVA Snow Eco Shovel and 01.05.2013 I have made a purchase on the backcountry.com. When picked it up was extremely happy, but clamped pile in hand - was just in shock, the handle is cracked in half, and no I'm not overloading the system is proposed to ((((
