Staying dry in wet weather doesn’t mean you have to sweat like an evangelical minister in a polyester suit. Armada made the Men’s Plasma Ski Pant with eVent fabric that blocks water, but actually breathes.
Riri AQUAzip film and YKK T5 water repellant zippers block out moisture and wind
RECCO avalanche rescue system for increased safety
Loose fit gives you unrestricted movement
No-snag, mesh-lined inner leg vents prevent stink butt
Pant-to-jacket interface keeps your Armada jacket from riding up
Reinforced cuff boosts durability
Bottom Line: Nailing your tricks is more fun when your ass is dry.
I used these pants everyday for an entire season. I never got wet. The eVent 3L membrane really is a game changer with these pants. You can always count on staying dry through even the wettest of weather. If you want a bombproof relaxed/baggy technical pant, look no further.
So normally I always wear a medium whenever I buy stuff, which is a little baggy but not too over the top. I really want these pants in lime green though, and the only size they have here is a large. Think it would be too baggy for a more "backcountry" kind of guy? I'm 5'11 also...
Make sure you have a proper "heavierish" long underwear and these pants are legit. They are super waterproof and seams are sealed welded etc, as expected for 3L shell type pant. I'M IMPRESSED WITH ARMADA QUALITY. first time armada softgoods user and i'm stoked! not the sturdiest or most durable fabric, but will hold up to a lot and has out in CO backcountry. Very breathable, quite possibly the most comfortable my balls have ever been while hiking at 12,000+ ft! Sizes run a bit larger like snowboard clothing, I'm always a M and the M is very steezy(baggy) on me, functions well, but depending on your preferences keep this in mind. Not quite bombshell, lets say bulletproof! great pants!

Anybody know if Backcountry.com is gonna get more shipments of these pants (particularly the lime green). Or if there is another good site I could buy them from since I'm a medium?
Pants are very well constructed. Im 6'3", size 34-36 waist, 220 lbs. and these are great for everything. Enough room to walk and move...but not too much park steez that they get in the way. XL would require a bomber belt and would be too baggy for me.
Like I said about the jacket, best ski pants I've owned. Rained all night and I didnt get wet, even sitting in puddles on the lift. Have already managed to slice the bottoms with the tele equip...but unless they are kevlar I'll do that to anything.
The main difference is these pants are made with 3 Layer eVent fabric, which is a lightweight, durable material that is extremely waterproof and breathable, waterproof zippers and RECCO reflector. The other Armada pants are made of Megarex fabric which is 2 layer in 10/10 or 15/10 that is combined with their SuperFlo lining system, which has a smooth face mesh for comfort and airflow and fleece in the seat for added warmth. In a nut shell, the Plasma pants are lighter and more tech, and the others are warmer, a little beefier and less expensive.
Used these pants twice so far and have nothing but good news to report. eVent truly does live up to the hype and breathe better than your normal pu lined waterproof/breathable membrane. Its warm out in CO early season and the pants never felt sweaty or clammy, and my ass stayed dry even with my riding buddies constantly spraying me with snow ;)
Fit is more "relaxed" style I would say. Not a super baggy park fit, but not an efficient backcountry cut either (I tried on a pair of Oakley Alps pants and found them to be quite a bit baggier). Got a Medium and I'm 5'9" 160lbs. I got quite a bit of room in the waist (waistband adjusters work well to suck that up) and the length is a tad on the long side for me but not bad. I am using these for snowboarding (no snowboarding companies use eVent this year as far as I know), so keep in mind my boots are likely a lower height than a ski boot.
Vents work well and have been snag free, same with the pockets. Nice pants!
I wear Med in street clothes and got these in a Large. I'm 5'9" and 140lbs; 29-30" waist on my non-ski pants. I cinched the waist a small bit using the waist adjustment and also sport a Spacecraft belt.
Pros: Very breathable, very water resistant. No swampy-ness when hiking or skinning. Very lightweight. Super relaxed and cool looking while avoiding the fake gangsta thing. Great pocket placement and high quality zippers. Inner leg zips with sick purple mesh (I have the Green pant).
Cons: Can be a bit chilly while riding lifts on a windy day. Best if paired with a mid weight base layer on resort days. Durability is a bit of a bummer. The bottom cuffs on mine are shredded beyond recognition after only about 25-35 days of use. I don't personally mind bashed-up outerwear so I'm not concerned, but others may be. One hip pocket is falling off due to some chintzy looking stitching. While my wallet can't fit through the slowly growing hole, my phone and keys will. No bueno, but I can easily re-stitch it. I'd personally expect a more durable pant considering the near $400 asking price.
All in all, Armada has some really good looking outerwear and I'd readily buy from them again. That being said, I'm going to aim for their less pricey pieces until the durability improves. It no doubt will, as this is Armada's first foray into the outerwear realm. Enjoy the pants, just take it easy on them.
