Armada ANT Ski - 2009 BCS

Armada skis are so nice! They are some of the most durable and well built skis I've ever seen. Your Armadas will last three times as long at least as other sticks. No matter how hard you ski, fall, or rip, the ANT's will keep on running, and looking good, too.
In the new revolution of skiing, it's nice to see a set of boards that don't have reverse camber. The ANT is a do anything, hard charging, one ski quiver. You need to ski with confidence on these whips. They like to go fast and they like a competent driver who's not afraid to send it on big cliffs. The tips don't get deflected by chop, and the 107mm waist combined with 191cm keeps you floating well in the deep. It seems like all the other skis just keep getting wider, and rockered. The ANT remains as a reminder that long is as good as fat, and that speed keeps you afloat more than ski width.
You won't have any trouble with tip dives or submarining on these as long as you are an expert skier.
It's nice to see that there's a shorter version now, for anyone under 5'6".

Good ski. Plows through anything sloppy. Solid for bigger booters. All mountain ski. Rip em anywhere. Lot's of fun. If your looking for a straight up solid ski these are your new rides.

This ski gets the job done..but not as well as some other skis out there.

#1. This ski is really stiff. In fact, I found that it tossed me around a little bit. I wasn't at a loss for control, but I did not feel that this ski was able to charge as effortlessly as some of the other big mountain contenders.

#2. Even though I do like regular camber on my big mountain sticks...atleast put rocker in the tip as well as a slight taper in the tip. This allows the ski to charge through uneven snow conditions more easily. You might think that this would be construed as cheating, but whatever allows you to ski faster and charge harder should be seen as an improvement.

#3. Stiffness in tail is good, nose should be a little softer for the same reasons mentioned above. If you make the nose of a ski too stiff it will want to be a bottom dweller...meaning that you really won't ski powder the way it was meant to be skied, you will be skiing the terrain beneath it.

This ski does charge hard though, really hard actually. 191 feels slightly longer than 191. Ski is a beast!

Nothing fancy here. Just a big ski for going fast in all conditions. One of the few Big Mountain Skis without any rocker on it. If you already miss the old Gotama, this will cheer you up. Nice and stiff, super stable, and the bases are tough to beat up.
