The trail can be a more unforgiving place than Great Aunt Priscilla's house at Christmas time (seriously, why is she always so judgemental?) but the Arc'teryx Zeta AR Men's Jacket brushes off precipitation, fends off grabby branches, and fights off discomfort whether you're out for a short hike or on a month-long trek. It can't, unfortunately make Great Aunt Priscilla respect you, but at least the 3L Gore-Tex membrane is totally waterproof and seriously breathable, with fully taped seams that banish even the most insidious forms of dampness and Gore-Tex C-Knit backing that feels good against skin.
At just one pound, the Zeta's nice and light on your back and in your pack, but the DWR-coated 40D nylon shell is plenty tough enough to handle bushwhacks, grabby branches, and repeated rubbing from pack straps. Arc'teryx made the cuffs, hem, and hood all fully adjustable, made sure all the WaterTight zippers provide extra water resistance, and gave the sleeves and underarms an articulated, gusseted cut that makes it easy to hike, scramble, fight off mosquitoes, or do a celebratory dance when the rain stops falling and the sky turns blue (or when you can finally leave Priscilla's house and go back home).

Zeta AR vs Beta AR
- Size Bought: Large
Does anyone here have experience with the Zeta AR vs Beta AR? I understand the Zeta AR uses the new Gore C Knit Backer Gore. And that the Zeta AR runs a little longer than the Beta. But from everything I've read, most people say the Beta AR is the best jacket Arc'Teryx makes. According to the Arc'Teryx site, the Zeta AR should be an ounce or two lighter than the Beta AR. I'm trying to decide between the two jackets.
You are taking a gamble if you buy Black
Looking at the reviews there is a 2014 model and 2015 model, I also received the 2014 model which is not nearly as nice as the 15, i'm going ahead and returning it really disappointed we can't separate old from new
After exchanging for different color other than black i got the new version with c-nit, n70p, and pit zips, its way nicer than the previous version although the previous version is n40p and feels thicker but that is more than okay. Solid little jacket, nice and long if you have a long torso like me it is a plus.
But just to be safe I would stay away from the black.
Happy with purchase!
I did not have the previous reviewer's experience. Bought the Zeta AR for a great price. It was shipped with the C-Knit Backer technology and pit zips. My Atom LT fits nicely under it as a base layer. Happy with purchase of both.
Jackets pictured don't match description
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The 1 star has no reflection on the jacket but more about my experience with trying to order the jacket that is pictured. Twice.
Pictured above are the exact same jackets Arc'teryx.com has listed. They are the (Revised for 2015) Zeta AR jackets priced at $450. However the description above describes the older model which a competitor has for $398.95.
A bit confused I decided to start an online chat to figure out what was what. There was a great sale going on and I wanted to be sure I was ordering the revised model with GORE C-KNIT backer technology and Pit zips with WaterTight zipper that can be opened to vent heat rapidly. During both my chats (1 before ordering and 1 after receiving the 1st wrong jacket) both "gear experts" confirmed I was buying the jacket with pit zips. In my second chat I even went through and noted all the minor differences between the old and new Zeta AR. No way they’ll send me the wrong jacket again…
Lo and behold I was sent the older version again. In my 3rd online chat I did get Backcountry.com to price match a competitor’s price of $398.95 but decided to return the second jacket anyway. So anyone who orders the Zeta AR be aware of the details of the old and new version that is available.
After all this I would still like to know if you even carry the revised Zeta Ar with pit zips and C-KNIT tech? If not you should probably change your pictures and lower the price.
this description says it's tricot backing, not gore c-knit. is this not the latest version?
Travis, the Zeta AR does feature the GORE C-KNIT backer. The tricot backer in the description is an error. Thank you for catching that, we'll have the description updated.

Is this jacket only available in the US? I live in Canada and I can't seem to find this on the Arc'teryx website for some reason.
This jacket can only be shipped within the US. The only way I know around this is if you know someone within the US. Have the item shipped to them and forwarded to you!
Hope this helps!
