Arc'teryx took the jack-of-all-trades approach and designed the Women's Theta AR Jacket with features to take on a day of backpacking, climbing, skiing, and snowboarding. The waterproof breathable Gore-Tex Pro fabric keeps you dry whether you're hiking through a rainstorm or skiing face shots. Two high hand pockets and one chest pocket provide plenty of space for extra liner gloves, snacks, or anything you need to carry. Arc'teryx gave the Theta AR Jacket Underarm zips to keep you cool when you're bookin' down the trail or hiking a backcountry ridge in knee-deep snow. *Only available for US shipment.
Bottom Line: Whatever you do in the mountains, you can do it with the Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket.
My wife got one of these last season and this is her "GoTo" jacket. The Goretex Pro shell is fantastic and is virtually wind and waterproof. This jacket breathe's better than any she has worn. It is very durable and has pit-zips to help control the temperature. Has 3 nice pockets that can be accessed with a pack on.
The Gore-tex Pro is very stiff when you first get it but will soften over time.

Reviewing for my wife. Finally convinced her she needs a more serious shell in Juneau, AK than her 8-year old cracked pea-green membrane. This one was made in Canada (not sure if all of them still are). Top-notch construction inside and out. Medium fits her 5'6" 115lb frame with room for layers. The AR is longer than other Theta versions and uses a greater amount of the more durable GoreTex material on the shoulders/elbows/arms and butt area where more contact is made with other surfaces. I have an Outdoor Research shell made from the same material and similar cut, and let me tell you you get what you pay for. Bomb-proof yet breathable. Will get you through the apocalypse.
Used it so far snowshoeing, pouring rain in the desert, 60 mph wind in the snow, and around the campfire for the extra layer.. As usual, Arcteryx surpassed my expectations with it's quality.. The only hardshell you will ever have to buy.. unless your friends steal yours.. i have had threats from mine... be careful..
I always love Arcteryx, and this jacket is no exception. I have used it so far for keeping dry in the snow and for mountaineering, and it is great for both. I like the adjustments that you can do on the bottom to make it snugger around your hips and on the hood to make it fit well. It was comfortable over my climbing helmet too.
I am 5'4 140 pounds and I got the medium. It is long on my, covers my butt, which is what I wanted. Also has a lot of room for layers. I can put a Arc down sweater under it and more layers. I hope this helps for comparison.
