Description

Essential cold-weather kit for anyone who moves quickly during fall or winter.

The Arc'teryx Men's Stryka Hoodie hugs your body close while you ascend a skin track, drop into a new trail, or backpack through crisp fall weather. Fluid in fit and detailed right down to the balaclava-style hood, this midweight hoodie fills in the gap in your layers between your thin next-to-skin layer and that heavyweight insulating layer you reach for when truly frigid weather rolls in.

  • Torrent fabric is synthetic so it dries quickly and helps move moisture away from your skin to the surface of the fabric so the moisture can evaporate quickly
  • Torrent fabric includes spandex for a flexible stretch that keeps this top close to your body for warmth
  • Balaclava hood sits close to your head so the hood easily fits under your outer layers or your helmet

How does this compare to the Patagonia R1 Hoody?

I own both the R1 and the Stryka and I would say the R1 is lighter and allows for more airflow. The Stryka is a warmer base/mid layer. I have worn it over a t-shirt and as a base layer. It is very comfortable and does have a longer cut than the R1. I have a large which I can pull over my butt when wearing it as a standalone piece.

How thick is this compared to the Phase AR Hoody?

This is about the same thickness/weight as a Phase AR Hoody. The Stryka Hoody is designed to be worn as a base layer and has mad amounts of stretch.

I would have to say it is thicker than the Phase AR. It can be worn as a standalone piece if need be where as I wouldn't really wear the Phase as one. I would have to say it is a very advanced hoody.
