2015 Ski Guide2015 Ski Guide

Description

A unique, multi-purpose jacket that looks great in town and performs even better in the high hills.

Whether you wear the Arc'teryx Women's Strato Hooded Fleece Jacket alone for a hike or tour, or you layer it under your ski shell on a snow day, you'll dig its soft nubby texture and highly breathable insulation. Polartec Thermal Pro Cobble fleece insulates you against the chilly air and has the feel of a cozy wool sweater. A low-profile hood is great alone or tucked into your outer shell, and no-lift gusseted underarms mean the jacket stays in place as you move. A DWR coating sheds light rain and snow when the clouds blow in.

Disappointed

This jacket is not that warm, the sleeve cuffs are not elastic to roll up, doesn't move with your body therefore I don't recommend it for activity ( which I think a technical outfit should be). I don't recommend it specially at such a high price.

Love the updated fit on the Strato Hoody

The Strato hoody is a killer everyday fleece from Arc'teryx and I am loving the updated longer length and less boxy shape. It's definitely a more flattering fit than the Arc'teryx of the past while maintaining the same high quality. I have gotten more use of out this than I could have expected- great for wearing with jeans or layering under a shell for insulation.

Mostly awesome

SO, I got this fleece for Christmas, although I picked it out myself. I got the one in blueish with the orange zippers. I love the look and color and have gotten many compliments. It is not as thick of a fleece as I had predicted from the weight, but i still love it. I am a little 5'7" and a marmot fleece I have is kind of shorter but I like how this one is long in the waist, covering my layer underneath. I have been wearing it a TON since I got it and my only complaint is that it is starting to pill a bit after several washings and lots of wearing. The pilling is mostly on the underpart of the forearm of the sleeve, but it is still a bit frustrating and annoying.

Not all that I expected

This was my first Arcteryx purchase. I have often eyed their stuff and wondered what made it so expensive. This is a nice jacket, but I guess I expected more. It is not a technical jacket. I wear it around town, but do not find it especially warm. It is thinner than I expected and it has begun to pill a little after its first wash near the pockets. The sleeve cuffs allow the sleeve to be long enough for my long arms, but it is not very elastic so I can't push the sleeves up at all and it constricts around my watch and makes it hard to take off at times. The berry color is beautiful though. And the jacket is long and sits at my hips which is nice. I bought a small for my 130 lbs., 5'7" frame and fits true to size. Not sure if I will invest in another Arcteryx......I may just stick with Patagonia, Mountain Hardware and Marmot stuff from now on as I can get what I expect and at prices which aren't too crazy.

Responded on

I have bought 2 Arcteryx jackets for my husband and one for me. They look great at first but the worst problem is that they pill so badly that it isn't long before these expensive jackets become something we wear around the house. Not a good investment in my opinion. I would like to hear feedback from the company as to why such and expensive product does not stay looking nice??
