Stinger Jacket - Women's

Arc’teryx made the Women’s Stinger Jacket specifically for the female shred addict who ventures out to the slopes even in the wettest blizzards. Gore-Tex Pro Shell 3L blocks wind and water like your six-foot-four brother fends off the assclowns at the pool hall who act like they’ve never seen a girl before. A roomy visored hood keeps snow from creeping in between your helmet and can be rolled away into the fleece lined collar (which can be cinched down), WaterTight zippers seal your pockets, and Tiny Gore seam tape waterproofs every seam. Gusseted underarms make your pole placements a breeze, and pit zips provide ventilation when a sweaty hike comes your way. Backcountry and sidecountry aficionados will appreciate the built-in RECCO safety reflector as well.

Bottom Line: Play hard-to-get with the elements.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Thank you for the atom suggestion, I think that's what I'm going with. As for size, should I order the atom in the same size as the stinger? Or down a size?

Typically you would wear the same size. It's patterned to be a close fit, and your standard size should be just right. Enjoy!

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE OTHER REVIEWER IS THINKING!

Let me just start out by saying that the previous reviewer must not like her jacket only because this jacket is NOT for whiners and babies! This is my second Arc Teryx Stinger jacket. YES I lived the 1st one too, but it was simply too small at the waist and so I saved up and bought the correct size. I LOVE THIS JACKET!!! Just like the mens version of this jacket is is BOMB-PROOF!!! I was considering the Alpha SV, because it is said to be their toughest fabric and top of the line jacket, but this fabric seems to be just as tough and the pockets are in a better position and it does have a powder skirt. I plan on using this jacket in the back-country of MONTANA and IDAHO and CANADA. This will always be my most durable, lightest, and most favorite jacket. DON'T EVEN THINK TWICE GET ONE BEFORE THEY ARE ALL SOLD OUT! THEY ARE MADE IN CANADA WITH THE QUALITY YOU HAVE COME TO EXPECT from the top of the line company. I will keep buying again and again from them.

I second what Brandon said 110%. The Atom LT is fantastic. It's super light, very warm for its weight, and stuffs down to the size of a grapefruit. It has an athletic fit that layers well. I'm a huge fan of the fabric panels that run from the underarms down the sides which provide more mobility and breathability. I convinced my brother to go out and buy one and now he raves about it too. An all around great jacket.

My favorite is the Arc'teryx Atom LT jacket. It's as warm as a mid-weight fleece, but blocks weather when it's worn alone, is light and the smooth face layers very smoothly.

Awesome, but not worth full price

I wear this jacket for backcountry touring and at the mountain on wet/snowy days. I've also worn it for several weeks of winter camping. I tend to keep the hood out and love the high collar - hood combo. It's great for keeping my face out of the wind and snow. The pit zips sometimes stick, but that's my only complaint. Highly waterproof and very comfy. There are other comparable jackets that you can buy for less, but if you find this one on sale, go for it!
